About Us
The Global PFAS Science Panel is a collaborative partnership among academic researchers, regulatory scientists and policy analysts dedicated to enhancing understanding of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) and to protecting human and environmental health from potentially adverse effects associated with PFAS through better informed decision-making.
Our Mission Statement
Our mission is to foster development of high-quality scientific research, steward information exchange, and coordinate advancement of science and policy to address the class of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs) as a global concern. We are facilitating international collaboration among scientists, policymakers, and stakeholders to address the following objectives:
Identify research priorities as well as collect and synthesize existing information with respect to PFAS, including persistence, mobility, bioaccumulation, exposure, biomonitoring, and toxicity data.
Establish a system to differentiate between essential and non-essential uses of PFASs and work toward the global phase-out of non-essential uses of PFASs.
Coordinate scientific inputs for policy processes and communicate with scientists, policymakers, and stakeholders throughout the scientific community.
Support for Our Work
The work of the Global PFAS Science Panel is supported by The Tides Foundation and other donors.
